About Kyra (kee-rah)
Kyra V Brandt (sometimes Hanacek) is a fine artist and therapist living in San Diego, California. She recently graduated with her Master's of Science in marriage and family therapy from San Diego State University. Kyra’s formative introduction to painting began with the artist, Maria del Carmen Calvo. Later, she completed her undergraduate studies in cultural anthropology and studio arts at University of California, Santa Cruz. She has been an artist in residence with the North Central Ohio Land Conservancy and recipient of distinguished artist awards. Kyra is involved with the New York City Critique Club and the art collective TNT. Her artwork has been shown in many California-based art exhibits, Brooklyn, NY and currently has available work with the San Diego-based False Cast Gallery's World Series SD art program. Kyra's work was also acquired by the Carmel Peninsula Community Hospital's notable art collection and can be seen on site.
Her interest in nature, story-telling, and healing influence her narrative landscape painting.
